Though Donovan and Cori were not remarkable characters, as they were portrayed as normal people with quirks and insecurities, their story was fascinating. I had to keep reading to see how things would end, not just with the main plot, their romance, but with subplots as well. It was full of suspense and action, as well as many entertaining secondary characters. Though the romance occurred quickly and in the beginning of the story, Donovan and Cori's continued partnership and devotion to each other was admirable. I enjoyed this story quite a bit but must admit it focused more on the suspense than the romance. "Donovan…there's something I need to tell you."

He traced the curve of her cheek with his index finger. "I already know." He dropped his hand to her belly. "You're holding our child for safekeeping."

Tears puddled in her eyes. "Who—"

"No one told me." He smiled. "I'd like to say that with my keen observation and deductive reasoning as a federal agent it was easy to spot. Truth is I didn't realize until today when I started to put things together."
