Unlike most authors, Rhonda Kirk didn't set out to be a writer. Her chosen career was critical care nursing. But soon after becoming a nurse, she learned that every patient has a story and many of those stories have unhappy endings. Needing an outlet and a way to relieve stress, Rhonda began writing. The characters she created put their fates in her hands and naturally, all their endings were "happily ever after." She found so much joy in writing that it became a habit and soon after, a passion. Thus, an author was born.

Rhonda's second novel, Double Take, has been contracted by Amber Quill Press and will be available in January, 2003. Her first novel, Yesterday's Child, was contracted by Wings ePress, Inc. and will be available in December, 2002. Hoping to put some of her medical background to use, she is currently working on a medical thriller.

Rhonda resides in a historic area of Maryland with her husband, Kirk, and youngest son, Matt, who is lead singer in a heavy metal band and also studying to be a journalist. Her other passions include reading, cooking, traveling, spending time with good friends, and raising registered pygmy goats (yes, that's right, pygmy goats). She never intended to be a goatherd either, but then, that's a whole other story...
